Participate with NITLE
NITLE invites non-profit, undergraduate-centered
colleges, universities, and educational organizations to participate in the NITLE Network: a strong,
responsive system of exchange, innovation, and collaboration that
crosses professions, disciplines, and institutions. Participating institutions and organizations use this virtual network to share their knowledge, skills, and
experiences, working together to advance undergraduate-centered higher
education through the effective use of digital technologies.
Participation in the NITLE Network is available for an annual fee of
$2,500, with the standard participation-year beginning on July 1.
(Pro-rated
rates are available.) To enroll your
institution or organization in the NITLE Network, please send an e-mail
message to participate@nitle.org. Our participant relations team will be happy to answer your questions and get you
started with enrollment, including designating your institution's liaison to NITLE.
Institutions and organizations that participate in the NITLE Network receive
- 10 virtual seats in a multipoint, interactive videoconferencing (MIV) "room" reserved for the participating institution's use. Using
their personal desktop or laptop computers, members of the faculty and
staff can communicate, interact, and collaborate with colleagues and
students--on and off campus--in a web-based environment that includes
audio, video, a shared whiteboard, group and private chat, and
application-sharing. NITLE also supports community discussion about
using MIV to help participating institutions use this tool to best
purpose.
- Access for up to 100 users and 10 courses in both the Moodle and
Sakai open-source learning management systems. Participating
institutions can test one or both systems and explore the potential of
NITLE's information services via shared, hosted instances of Moodle and Sakai. All server and application maintenance operations are included.
- Eligibility to participate in NITLE's professional development programs and to subscribe to NITLE's information services. NITLE's professional development programs engage participants in a range
of events, workshops, and other activities relevant to teaching effectively with technology and
integrating technology into the teaching and learning environment;
technology services give campuses easy-on, easy-off access to key
technologies. Additional participation fees apply. Network participants
pay only for the professional development programs and technology services they choose.
- Access to information and resources available only to Network participants, including access to NITLE's peer communities (e-mail lists and collaborative web resources), regular updates from
NITLE about available offerings, and other participant services.
